We are excited to share that we are looking for an Adult & Community Learning Practitioner to join our Adult & Community Learning team. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a leading role in the design and delivery of adult and community learning across Sandwell College Group.

In this pivotal role, you will develop and maintain strong relationships with community partners and key stakeholders to support residents into education and employment. You'll help design a responsive curriculum offer that meets the needs of our diverse communities and contributes to local, regional, and national priorities.

This role is perfect for someone passionate about engaging with adults, breaking down barriers to education, and helping learners progress. You will be based at the Learning & Skills Centre in Cradley Heath, while also working collaboratively across our wider College teams.





Responsibilities



Act as an ambassador for adult provision, engaging with community and faith leaders to secure learners for the College Promote the wide range of opportunities for adults across Sandwell College sites Support in planning, preparation and delivery of adult provision, ensuring it is accessible to diverse groups Work with key stakeholders such as Sandwell Local Authority, West Midlands Combined Authority and the DWP to develop referral pathways and measure performance Build and maintain effective community relationships, including establishing an Adult & Community board for Cradley Heath Organise and coordinate community events to showcase provision and widen participation Provide pastoral support to adult learners and help them access college resources Contribute to continuous improvement of programmes through learner, employer and partner feedback

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise



Relevant subject qualification (essential) Certificate in Education or Level 5 Teaching Qualification (essential) Vocational specialism qualification (desirable) Experience of engaging adults in community learning Experience of working with a range of stakeholders and building effective partnerships Ability to inspire, motivate and support adult learners from diverse backgrounds Strong organisational and administrative skills Flexibility and commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion
