Job Summary



At Smart Training (Scotland) Ltd the SVQ Assessor / Internal Verifier is responsible for supporting individuals working towards SVQ's by ensuring they meet the required standards for qualification. This role involves identifying candidates' skills, focusing on areas for improvement, and conducting assessments during their workday. The SVQ Assessor will provide constructive feedback on performance and contribute to maintaining and improving the quality of training within the organisation. This position involves internal verification and qualification approval activities as set by the SQA. The Internal Verifier will support assessors, monitor their performance, and uphold the standards of qualifications in the relevant subject areas.

We are looking for an applicant who has the relevant assessor and IV awards up to CSLM level.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:



Conduct candidate induction sessions and ensure all necessary paperwork is accurately completed.

Provide ongoing support to candidates throughout their qualification journey.

Identify candidates who require specific assessment arrangements and facilitate those needs.

Assess candidate evidence against Health and Social Care Standards and SSSC Codes of Practice.

Record assessment decisions and provide timely, constructive feedback on submitted evidence.

Discuss and align assessment arrangements with colleagues to ensure a consistent approach across the board.

Attend and participate in standardisation meetings to maintain quality assurance.

Maintain a Continuous Professional Development (CPD) record and present it to SQA's external quality assurance staff upon request.

Contribute to the centre's review of policies, procedures, learning materials, and assessment resources.

Attend and actively participate in visits from SQA quality assurance staff, as required.

Attend regular meetings with assessors to discuss assessment practices and provide support

Assist assessors in standardising assessment evidence and promoting the sharing of best practices across the team.

Sample assessment evidence in accordance with the internal verification policy to ensure consistency and quality

Countersign assessment evidence as confirmation of successful internal verification processes

Prepare and complete internal verification reports and summary sheets for documentation purposes.

Qualifications:



Relevant qualifications in Health and Social Care (holding an assessor and internal verifier awards for SVQ 2, 3, 4 and CSLM is essential)

Experience in assessing & internal verifying

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to work collaboratively and maintain high standards of quality.

Knowledge of SQA regulations and standards.

Skills:



Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail.

Strong analytical skills to assess and provide feedback on candidate evidence.

Proficient in using assessment tools and maintaining accurate records.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: 32,000.00 per year
