About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and passionate
Tutor
to deliver an engaging and comprehensive
Adult Social Care course
. The aim of this programme is to equip learners with the practical skills, knowledge, and accredited qualifications needed to gain employment within the Adult Social Care sector.
You will deliver a structured, interactive, and supportive learning experience that boosts learners' confidence, employability, and readiness to work in care.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct a
full diagnostic interview
with each participant to assess employability, transferable skills, and training needs, creating an
individual action plan
with next steps.
Deliver engaging sessions covering:
Introduction to Working in Care
Communication and Person-Centred Care
SSSC Codes of Practice
Adult Safeguarding
Dementia Awareness
Personal Care & Infection Control
Manual Handling
First Aid & Food Hygiene
Ensure all modules result in
Accredited Certificates
for participants.
Promote understanding of
workplace standards
, expected behaviours, and professional conduct.
Deliver
employer-led awareness sessions
featuring real sector employers with current vacancies.
Support learners with
employability skills
, including:
Digital job search and online applications
Identifying transferable skills
Writing/editing CVs and personal statements
Covering letters and interview techniques (including mock interviews)
Understanding personal presentation and workplace expectations
Provide guidance on
benefit calculators
to demonstrate financial benefits of work.
Offer
13 weeks of one-to-one aftercare support
to course completers, reviewing job search activity and progress.
Produce an
Exit Action Plan
for every participant upon completion.
Provide or facilitate access to
IT equipment
to enable full participation, and support learners in using personal devices for job search purposes.
About You
You will be an engaging, empathetic tutor with experience delivering employability and/or adult social care training. You'll have excellent communication skills, an understanding of barriers faced by jobseekers, and the ability to inspire confidence and motivation.
Essential:
Experience in delivering Adult Social Care or Employability training
Recognised teaching/training qualification (e.g., PTLLS/AET or equivalent)
Current knowledge of the Adult Social Care sector
Ability to deliver accredited training and manage learner records
Strong IT and digital skills
Desirable:
Experience supporting unemployed adults or Jobcentre Plus referrals
Experience coordinating accredited certificates and assessments
Background in health and social care practice
