We are looking for an experienced, energetic, and committed
Adult Mental Health Social Worker
to join a dynamic
Primary Care Mental Health Team (PCMHT)
within a multi-agency service offering short-term mental health interventions for adults of working age.
This is a
fast-paced front-door mental health service
delivered in partnership with health and voluntary sector professionals, offering diverse opportunities for impactful and meaningful work. The successful candidate will act as a
Mental Health Practitioner
, working on a duty rota and leading on safeguarding and statutory assessments within a supportive, multi-disciplinary environment.
Location:
Based in the Downham area with excellent transport links and free local parking.
Key Responsibilities
Participate in the team's duty rota, delivering timely front-line mental health support.
Complete holistic assessments, develop person-centred care plans, and offer short-term psychosocial interventions.
Manage a small, focused caseload, ensuring effective support for adults with mental health needs.
Lead on adult safeguarding and Care Act assessments in line with statutory requirements.
Conduct risk assessments and contribute to risk management plans in collaboration with clinical colleagues.
Act as an Enquiry Officer in Section 42 safeguarding enquiries.
Work within a multi-disciplinary framework to deliver strengths-based, recovery-focused social care.
Provide culturally-informed, anti-oppressive practice as a core part of your approach.
About You
You will be a registered social worker (SWE/HCPC) with substantial experience in adult mental health casework, particularly in
community-based or integrated mental health services
. You will have:
A strong understanding of the needs of adults experiencing mental illness.
Significant experience working under the statutory frameworks of the
Care Act 2014
,
Mental Health Act 1983
, and
Mental Capacity Act 2005
.
Proven ability to assess and manage risk in mental health settings.
Experience in acting as an Enquiry Officer in safeguarding investigations.
Strong assessment, engagement, and communication skills--both written and verbal.
A commitment to culturally responsive, person-centred, and anti-oppressive practice.
Confidence working in a multi-disciplinary setting, handling fast-paced casework with efficiency and care.
Mandatory Requirements:
Right to work in the UK.
Enhanced DBS.
5 Years of References/ Work History.
Previous experience working in Adult Social Care.
Social Work England Registration Number.
Pay:
21.21 per hour.
Duration:
12 Weeks.
Hours per week:
35 Hours.
