About the Role

Worcestershire County Council is seeking an experienced

Adults Social Worker

to join the Directorate of Adult Services & Health. This is a hard-to-fill, highly impactful role supporting adults with complex needs under the Care Act.

You will carry out high-quality assessments, coordinate multi-agency plans, and safeguard individuals while promoting independence, rights, and wellbeing.

Key Responsibilities

Complete

Care Act needs assessments

and person-centred support plans, ensuring individuals and families are fully involved. Act as a

Safeguarding Enquiry Officer

, balancing individuals' rights with statutory duties to protect. Work in partnership with

multi-agency professionals

to ensure coordinated and effective care. Apply relevant legislation and guidance, including the

Care Act

,

Mental Capacity Act

, and associated statutory frameworks. Provide ethical, legally-sound decision making in line with best practice and organisational policies. Use critical reflection to inform professional judgement and interventions.

Required Skills & Competencies

Strong understanding of

social sciences, social work theory, and relevant legislation

. Ability to apply

anti-discriminatory and anti-oppressive practice

. Skilled in critical reflection, analysis, and professional decision-making. Ability to lead complex interventions with confidence, authority, and professional integrity. Commitment to continuous professional development and high standards of practice.

Qualifications (Requirement)

Professional qualification in Social Work

(DipSW, BA/BSc/MA Social Work, CQSW)
? Registered or eligible for registration with

Social Work England

Pay Rates

(via agency):

PAYE:

from 21.31 per hour

Umbrella:

from 28.40 per hour
Enhanced rates apply for weekends, bank holidays, and night work (full rate table available on request).
