Job Description

To support the provision of high-quality pharmaceutical care to patients diagnosed with inflammatory bowel disease To clinically assess and treat IBD patients effectively in scheduled outpatient clinics according to prescribed job plan, utilising skills as a Pharmacist Independent Prescriber as and when required. To contribute to the development of prescribing policies for groups of patients treated by the clinical specialists e.g. Shared Care Guidelines for care of patients across primary/secondary care. To support the safe and cost-effective use of high-cost drug therapies within the field of inflammatory bowel disease.



To horizon scan for upcoming novel therapeutics and proactively submit new drug applications to the Trusts Medicines Optimisation Group to support prompt access to new therapeutics. To engage with colleagues in the pharmaceutical industry to identify and gain access to commercial financial agreements and rebate schemes to ensure resources are utilised effectively. To participate in the pharmacy departments on call and out of hours pharmacy services rota as and when required. If successful this vacancy will require an enhanced DBS check at a cost of 54.50. This cost will be deducted from your first Trust salary In addition to this it will be a condition of your employment that you will join the DBS update service and pay the annual subscription fee of 16.
