AMH have exciting plans to modernise our workforce to meet current and future challenges and provide a new career pathway for non-medical practitioners through the introduction of Advanced Clinical Practitioners into our community services. This role is based in the Broxtowe & Hucknall LMHT.
It is anticipated that this role will develop over time in response to changes in service delivery and therefore we need clinicians who are energetic, eager to develop and are forward thinking with the potential to adapt to change and meet new challenges. We will ensure we support you at every level to enable you to develop the role within AMH services.
Alternatively, we would consider appointing a Trainee Advanced Clinical Practitioner (tACP) to develop specialist knowledge and skills to provide healthcare autonomously to patients in their speciality through an established ACP training pathway.
The post holder will be an experienced Nurse/Allied Health Professional/Paramedic, qualified to ACP Masters Level who will act as a Clinical Leader. They will:
Demonstrate safe , senior clinical decision-making by autonomously assessing patients presenting to the inpatient service including initial history taking, clinical assessment, diagnosis, treatment and evaluation of care
Demonstrate critical thinking in the clinical decision making process and work collaboratively with the MDT to meet the needs of patients.
Be instrumental in guiding junior medical staff and nursing staff in relation to relevant protocols, procedures and clinical pathways.
Be fundamental in the development of this new role.
Initiate, manage and drive innovative change in practice for the benefit of patient care in line with Trust and local procedures.
The ACP may provide mentorship to trainee ACP's within the directorate. 1st on call duties on a 3 month rota basis, will form part of this role.
Alternatively, we would consider appointing a Trainee Advanced Clinical Practitioner (tACP) to develop specialist knowledge and skills through the MSc in Advanced Clinical Practice as an apprentice; included in the curriculum are work-based learning modules. As well as the academic pathway the tACP will follow the three-year supervisor-supported ACP training program mapped against established national and regional competencies.
