Job Description

We have an exciting opportunity for a Advanced Clinical Practitioner to join our Mental Health Team at HMP Dovegate, a category B Prison located in Uttoxeter in Staffordshire.
HMP Dovegate is a private prison with a capacity of 1060 males
As an Advanced Clinical Practitioner you will play a key role within the prison mental health service, providing advanced clinical care while also offering leadership and supervision to a small team of three and has proven experience working in substance misuse and mental health settings.
You will work primarily on the prison wings, with additional responsibilities across other clinical areas within the establishment.

Hours
  • Full time 37.5 hours a week.
  • Monday to Friday - 8am - 4pm
  • Alternate Saturday's - 8am - 4pm
Salary
You'll receive an annual salary between 59,677 - 66,792 per annum - depending on experience.

What you'll be doing
As a Advanced Clinical Practitioner, your responsibilities will vary. You will
  • Demonstrate judgement in assessing and managing wide ranging and complex patient problems
  • Provide clinical leadership for the mental health team, This multi-disciplinary team is made up of a variety of
registered and non-registered professionals including; mental health, and substance misuse practitioners * You will act as a role model ensuring professional appearance and maintaining
professional standards at all times * Supporting senior clinicians on site you will be part of the daily leadership team, providing clinical input for all patients
  • As a clinical expert in your field, you will work with the team to ensure; patient safety, the management of complex cases and ensure the most up to date treatment methodology is applied to patient care.

Qualifications required:
  • Registered Nurse - Adult / Mental Health NMC
  • Independent/supplementary prescriber qualification
  • Substance Misuse and Mental Health experience - Essential
  • MSc in Advanced Practice
  • Experience working autonomously as an advanced clinical practitioner following best practice
guidance
Although not essential ideal applicants would have experience in a hospital, community or prison environment.
