We have an opportunity for an Advanced Embedded Engineer to join our SATCOM team in Tewkesbury. You will be working on cutting edge satellite communications technologies from real time embedded software through to application software on a variety of platforms. These technologies are key to keeping aircraft in the air and enabling the next generation of ubiquitous global connectivity. This position offers opportunities to grow in technical knowledge and responsibility supported by the company.

Key Responsibilities



Technical

+ Own and deliver relevant coding, testing or design tasks as assigned. Develop quality code in line with standards and procedures. Independently plan and execute project subtasks to meet specifications. Deliver tasks on time and in full.
Communication

+ Convey technical concepts using clear and concise communication. Deliver task status and presentations for leadership and peers
Behavior

+ Proactive, can-do attitude. Leans in to make things happen. Open and collaborative. Proposes ideas to advance new product or process improvements.

Must Have Skills



Bachelors Degree in Engineering or a related field or equivalent experience and 4-6 years of relevant experience Embedded software development in C/C++, Python. Source control, e.g. git and/or Bitbucket Basic systems understanding of Communication stacks - L1, L2/3 etc

Desirable Experience

Highly desirable: Knowledge of signal processing, DSP and software defined radio architectures. Atlassian toolset and agile methods Formal design methods, e.g. UML. Experience as software design engineer in either the Cellular or SATCOM (particularly Inmarsat) sectors Technical background in wireless communications and in particular modem/wireless transceiver architectures
