Compass Associates are delighted to be working with a leading Private Hospital in Central London in their search for Advanced Occupational Therapist. Our client has over four decades of expertise at providing the highest level of care for patients who are looking for the best treatment in key areas of healthcare, including: neurosurgery, spinal surgery, cardiac care, orthopaedics, acute neurological rehabilitation, gynaecology and cancer care.

This world class Private Hospital are on the lookout for an Advanced Occupational Therapist to manage a defined caseload of clients with complex needs, including complex discharge planning. The successful post holder will have the flexibility and autonomy to work in a variety of service areas including but not limited to the intensive care units, cardiac, orthopaedic, neurosurgical, oncology, abdominal surgery and medical wards.

Requirements

\xe2\x80\x93 Current registered member of the HCPC
\xe2\x80\x93 BSc (Hons) in Occupational Therapy
\xe2\x80\x93 Experience in working in areas including but not limited to the intensive care units, cardiac, orthopaedic, neurosurgical and medical wards
\xe2\x80\x93 Experience at work at Band 7 level

Duties & Responsibilities

\xe2\x80\x93 Independently manage a defined caseload of complex cases across diagnostic client mixes
\xe2\x80\x93 Providing participation in the handover and allocation process on daily basis
\xe2\x80\x93 Performing occupational analysis and risk evaluations leading to the formulation of sound discharge plans.
\xe2\x80\x93 Use reasoning, communication, and negotiation skills to establish a therapeutic relationship in complex cases, managing barriers to communication.
\xe2\x80\x93 Maintain accurate and timely documentation consistent with legal and organisational requirements
\xe2\x80\x93 To be responsible for the formulation, development and implementation of departmental initiatives that promote time efficiency and quality patient care.
\xe2\x80\x93 Lead multidisciplinary initiatives.
\xe2\x80\x93 To be professionally and legally accountable for all aspects of own work, including but not limited to the management of patients in your care, funding authorizations, billing and team liaisons.
\xe2\x80\x93 Prioritise and delegate efficiently
\xe2\x80\x93 Undertake other duties as the request of the Head of Acute Therapy services.
\xe2\x80\x93 Work effectively as a member of a multidisciplinary team.
\xe2\x80\x93 Ensure patients and carers are involved in development of client centred goals.
\xe2\x80\x93 Identify individual training needs to ensure high levels of professionalism and clinical skills.
