We have an exciting opportunity for a well-motivated and enthusiastic Advanced Audiologist to join us in the Paediatric Audiology team at Broomfield Hospital in Chelmsford.
The post holder will be fully competent in all areas of advanced paediatric hearing assessments, including diagnostic evoked potentials and behavioural hearing assessments. They will have a good knowledge of fitting and verifying hearing aids on children.
The post is a permanent position, full time (37.5 hours per week) but flexible working will be considered.
Previous experience in working in NHS Hospitals is essential.
Main liaison for local Specialist Teachers of the Deaf to ensure children benefit from the prescribed amplification and radio aid provision in education setting.
Assisting in formulation of policy and procedures for the Paediatric audiology service, in conjunction with the Paediatric Service Lead.
D eputise for the site manager/paediatric service lead when necessary.
Support, supervision and mentoring junior staff.
Lead for paediatric audit on the site and ensure learning is shared with the team for events/incidents.
Ensure correct use and all calibration stages audiological equipment, including evoked potentials equipment.
Complete advanced and routine diagnostic hearing assessments of children of all ages, including behavioural testing and speech testing.
Objective tests of hearing. Including ABR, ABR under GA, ASSR and OAEs
Undertake hearing aid assessment, fitting, validation (REM/RECD) and ongoing support of children and families.Liaise with SONAR as a tool for peer review.
Attendance at regular meetings and training courses as appropriate.
Attendance at CHSWG meetings, may include acting as an officer to the group. Collation of statistics from the activity within department reporting from S4H and measuring the service against NHSP and BAA Quality Standards. Responsible for an area of specialism or have designated basic management duties such as appraisal for a small group of staff.
