the role

As an Advanced Practitioner you will specifically support our aims and ambitions of enabling all students to succeedby coaching, mentoring and supporting teaching staff and assessors to improve and enhance their pedagogical practice, leading to high quality teaching, learning and assessment.

Ideally you will have experience of teaching in this subject area.

Main Responsibilities:



Specific duties include, but are not limited to:Deliver high quality teaching in specialist area of 561 hours, ensuring an outstanding experience and outcomes for those that you teach and setting a standard of excellence for colleagues Maintain strong learner outcomes for attendance, retention, achievement and progress Provide individual support and coaching to staff in line with their observation and individual development plan Provide supportive visits, observation, walk throughs and other quality review activities to inform wider TLA and quality improvement support across the assigned academy area
Induct and mentor new delivery staff to the assigned Academy ensuring they meet college expectations and enable them to plan and deliver sessions which provide high-quality teaching Supporting new teachers through their induction and delivering on internal teacher training programmes Work collaboratively with Academy leadership team to lead professional development and CPD sessions Work collaboratively to plan and deliver specialist sessions and lead CPD as part of the college development days and communities of practiceprogramme Support staff in reflecting and documenting their professional learning, including CPD log and dual professionalism activity Keep up to date with sector research, technological developments and inclusive practices to ensure currency and credibility with the individuals and teams that you support Contribute to self-assessment and quality improvement planning, ensuring interventions have measurable impact Take responsibility for own professional development and continually updates as necessary, participating in appropriate staff development activities as required including the Professional Development Review To promote a positive image of the College and the work that is carried out across its various services To comply with all legislative and regulatory requirements Preparing documentation for inspections, visits of awarding bodies and funding agencies and assisting constructively with the demands of external inspectors, assessors, verifiers, examiners etc.
Maintaining professional standards of behaviour and ensuring that the learning environment is of optimum benefit to all students. Undertake other duties within the scope of the role to support continuous improvement
