This role is eligible for an Essential Car User allowance of up to 963 per annum.

Your Role




Stockport Families First (Edge of Care) is an innovative, dynamic and creative service, that has a clear aim to safely prevent and reduce the number of children and young people from entering the care system in Stockport. With a workforce that has commitment to safely keep families together as a unit by strengthening, improving and re-building family relationships. We are passionate about delivering ground-breaking solutions to promote sustainable change for our families, we encourage individuals to make informed choices about their own lives and involve them in all aspects of the work.


As an Advanced Practitioner you will be part of a wider resourceful team, sharing a passion for providing young people with the best possible outcomes in life. You will make the most of your social work and specialist experience by holding, directing and supporting a team of Intensive Support workers and specialist workers taking a lead in the development of their practice. Within the role you will have an oversight of delivering effective coordinated evidence-based support and interventions to young people and their families/ carers.


Stockport Families First (Edge of Care) service keeps children and young people at the heart of all their work, we listen, respond and value the families and communities that we support.

We are looking for an experienced Social worker to rise to the challenge of keeping children at home with their families. With a reassuring presence, calm in a crisis and able to work with families in their homes, helping them make changes and stay together.


You will need to be passionate about working with children, young people and their families to keep them together and be a good role model for others working with children, young people and their families.
