An exciting opportunity has arisen for a B8a Advanced Practitioner to join the Living Well Service in BCUHB. We are looking for someone who enjoys working as part of a skilled interdisciplinary team co-led by a Consultant Therapist and Consultant Clinical Psychologist. Our MDT includes Clinical Psychology, Speech and Language Therapy, Advanced Clinical Practitioners, Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy, Dietetics, GP and support staff. The service supports people presenting with Long Covid, other post viral and fatiguing conditions, persistent physical symptoms, breathing pattern disorder and those who present frequently to services. The Living Well Service provides an opportunity to get involved in the development of this service and shape the way we work with vulnerable groups who might otherwise fall through the gaps in services.
We are currently looking for Band 8a Advanced Practitioner to work with us to cover a period of maternity leave. This is a full-time fixed term/ secondment opportunity however part time hours will be considered.
We are a pan-North Wales service, but this particular role will support the West area of North Wales. The ability to travel within the West locality as well as occasional travel across the other localities in North Wales is a necessity.
The post holder will undertake clinical work within the BCUHB Living Well Service and fulfil the 4 pillars of advanced clinical practice. We work in outpatient clinics and conduct home visits when necessary. Reviews can be delivered remotely if this suits the client.
Our patients present with complex chronic conditions including but not limited to: long COVID, ME/CFS, Breathing Pattern Disorder and Functional Neurological Disorder.
Due to the evolving nature of the conditions covered by the service, regular ongoing review of the literature and national guidelines is crucial. The successful applicant will need to ensure they are up to date with the latest research and thinking to maintain credibility with patients and ensure delivery of evidence-based practice.
We are passionate about co-development and enriching the service with research. Therefore, the post holder will have opportunities to help us to continue developing these two important areas.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
