Advanced Quality Line Controller - Shifts

Role description



Reporting to B3 Cold end FLM Detect container defects relevant to line for which responsibility is held to ensure containers meet customer requirements. Make basic engineering adjustments & setups on the FPX inspection machines to ensure the equipment is fully optimised, by either software adjustments or mechanical adjustments. Ensure smooth running of stackers, palletisers & tray formers making basic adjustments where needed. Laise between shift/day engineering & the quality teams to ensure the lines are to the required standard.

Responsibilities:

Carry out visual checks of the bottles to detect any occurring defects so that they can be dealt with as quickly as possible to minimise loss, ensuring the inspection equipment is fully optimised.

Communicate with the hot end verbally and via APS, to resolve problems quickly and effectively. Report any occurrences in APS in order to maintain an accurate reference point.

Carry out specified tests, working alongside the QCI & FLM so that quality is maintained.

Observe the performance of the cold end equipment visually & by APS reacting to any changes to avoid quality or efficiency problems.

Action any equipment or mechanical malfunctions as quickly as possible to minimise downtime and maintain efficiency, work alongside shift & day engineering where necessary. Assist during and after a job change to establish and maintain effective operations.

Laise with the CE engineering manager/Shift engineering FLM/ Shift quality FLM & report long running issues

Required skills / qualifications:

Understanding of the relevant terminology relating to defects, specification and process. Understanding of work instructions and procedures:

Manual Inspection, Automatic Inspection, Manual Specification

Packaging

Packed Ware Audit/Rework

Job Change

Understanding of specifications of the Company Quality Plan

Understanding of standard operating/quality control procedures and familiarity with inspection equipment and work areas.

Engineering trained preferential

Engineering qualification NVQ Level 2 or above preferred (not essential)

Competitive salary based on Grade 6 of the harmonised pay scales; Salary min 38,000 - 42,494 max. (inclusive of shift allowance)
