Job Description

An opportunity has arisen for a B7 Advanced Speech and Language Therapy post at 0.2 WTE to provide a service for children and young people within Special Schools who have dysphagia.



The successful applicant will have an opportunity to work within a small team of Speech and Language Therapists within Special Schools as well as a small Dysphagia Team.



To provide a high quality, comprehensive service in line with the guidance of the Humber Teaching NHS Foundation Trust and HCPC



To be clinically responsible and accountable for the specialist service area of Dysphagia within Special Schools



To continue to demonstrate advanced clinical skills in practice and provide support and advice re the service development and the delivery of care in partnership with patients, relatives, staff, commissioners, managers, external agencies across a the agreed service area.



To employ excellent presentation skills to promote multi disciplinary and interagency liaison and collaborative practice to broad range of audiences, including other professionals and service users.



To continuously evaluate the level of clinical effectiveness by use of evidence based practice and outcome measures



To maintain knowledge of current research and clinical developments.



Provide support to children who may be under stress (and their families, carers) undergoing a diagnostic procedure enabling them to engage with the therapeutic process



Keep accurate and contemporaneous records in case note documentation in line with departmental and professional guidelines.
