What to Expect




As a Systems Engineer, you will join an enthusiastic and committed battery team where the battery is one of the key systems in the aircraft. Your role will be crucial in connecting each of the functional leads into a cohesive certified battery system, owning the architecture and integration of the battery system functional design.


A typical day could involve conducting multi-disciplinary design reviews with different design disciplines, coordinating between Mechanical Engineering, BMS and electrochemical teams, or working closely with both internal and external certification leads to define a safe, reliable and well-defined system.


Your ability to integrate complex systems, communicate effectively across disciplines, and drive certification processes will be key to your success in this role and our mission to deliver sustainable air mobility solutions.

What You'll Do



Generate, review, approve, validate and verify battery system requirements covering development, certification, and entry into service Serve as the system-level expert for integration and coordination activities between battery functional leads and other Engineer Functions Conduct and facilitate multi-disciplinary design reviews with multiple different design disciplines Contribute, generate and review system safety analyses, such as FHAs, FMEA's FTAs, working with engineering drawings, schematics, and design specifications Develop system and equipment test plans and reports, compliance documentation, and system engineering processes Contribute to ensuring all system and aircraft-level requirements are met Co-ordinate with the Programme manager for timing, cost and design principles

What You'll Bring



Previous experience with battery systems and cross functional delivery organisation Working knowledge of SAE ARP 4761, and SAE ARP 4754A or another formal requirement development framework Excellent problem solving, communication, and technical writing skills Bachelor of Science in engineering, mathematics, physics, chemistry or a related degree Proficient in English Skilled at creating and reviewing technical schematics, logical and functional diagrams, and engineering specifications Proficient with Microsoft Office and other systems engineering tools

Working knowledge of lithium-ion battery technology and support systems Working knowledge of DO-160G, 254 and 178 Working knowledge of MBSE Experience in validation process and performing correctness checks on requirements Previous experience managing complex engineering programs Previous experience preparing and presenting design reviews Previous experience in testing, including instrumenting, data acquisition, and documenting and analysing results Experience and involvement with industry groups to develop consensus standards 5+ years of relevant experience
