, you are accountable for the delivery of all artefacts covered by the mechanical discipline within the Nova DOA such as drawing sets, compliance reports and test plans. Within the Nova Systems organization you are responsible for the effective supervision of the mechanical design team to meet the business and regulatory requirements for the work being undertaken. The role includes the oversight of all mechanical design activities across the Special Missions arm of Nova System's DOA and ensuring informed and accurate technical and certification advice is being provided to the team.
Your responsibilities shall include but not be limited to:
Supervision and development of designs and/or design artefacts in accordance with EASA Design handbook in line with the scope, schedule and budget across the project portfolio. As a key contributor to the delivery project team, this role works collaboratively with other members of the design organisation, manufacturing and installation team and suppliers to provide cohesive solutions for our customers.
Drive, influence and review designs that are compliant with the requirements of the project, including but not limited to compliance with the customer specification, functional requirements, appropriate certification requirements, established design rules, and manufacturing requirements.
Lead the resolution of any technical issues within assigned projects, liaising with the broader design team or with production organisations, maintenance organisations and suppliers where necessary.
Close liaison with the Project Manager of the assigned project for delivery of design, certification, manufacture and installation elements of the project in line with your allocated task budget and schedule, proactively providing feedback on the progress and status of the assigned tasks.
Act as Project Lead within your discipline across the portfolio of projects, responsible for the following, including when delegated:
> Development and promulgation of Project plan and Kick-off Briefs in co-ordination with the Project Manager.
> Achieving results in line with established budgets.
> Report project progress, issues and resolutions to the management team and Program Manager on regular basis.
> Achieving high quality and timely service delivery.
> Coordination of all technical elements in accordance with the established project scope, budget and schedule.
Complying with all Nova WHS policies and Safety Management System and procedures.
Carry out other tasks when required or as directed by your team lead or supervisor(s).
What we are looking for;
Essential Skills, Knowledge and Attributes
Current or previous Panel 3 (Structures) CVE in appropriate disciplines (Small / Large Rotorcraft and Aeroplanes).
Experience of operating appropriate tools (i.e. CAD, MS Office Suite etc.). Nova utilise SolidWorks 3D and AutoCAD 2D CAD Software for creation of drawing artefacts.
Working knowledge of applicable EASA law, regulation and design codes (e.g. Part 21, CS 23, CS 25, CS 27 and CS 29).
Strong knowledge of applicable aerospace /aviation manufacturing and production processes across metallic and composite materials.
Academic qualification(s) (or equivalent experience) sufficient to support the execution of the role.
Excellent communication skills across all levels, including departmental senior management.
Willingness to educate and develop the aerospace engineers of tomorrow.
Self-starter with a drive and intellectual curiosity to continuously improve and develop professionally.

NATO country Passport
and be eligible to work in the UK.
Desirable Skills, Knowledge and Attributes
Experience of working in and around the hangar environment from a design perspective.
Practical application of mechanical engineering skills.
Member of relevant institution and Chartered Engineer status (or working towards).
Experience of supervising a small, high-performing, team of engineers.
