Workshop Technician & Supervisor
to lead and support production within our dedicated wiring and electrical assembly workshop.
The Role
This dual role combines
hands-on technical work
with
team supervision
, ensuring that all electrical harnesses and cable assemblies are built to the highest standards and in full compliance with Part 21G regulations. Your leadership will be key to maintaining an efficient, disciplined, and high-performing workshop environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Manufacture, assemble, and test aircraft wiring harnesses and electrical cable assemblies to engineering drawings and build standards.
Supervise and coordinate day-to-day workshop activities and a small team of technicians.
Ensure all work is carried out in compliance with CAA Part 21G procedures and internal quality systems.
Interpret technical drawings, wiring schematics, and bills of materials accurately.
Ensure all tools, equipment, and materials are maintained, calibrated, and used correctly.
Liaise with Quality and Engineering departments for inspection, design queries, and process improvements.
Maintain production records and assist with CAA Form 1 release preparation.
Conduct training and mentoring of junior technicians, ensuring high skill levels and consistent output.
Drive a culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement across the workshop.
What You'll Need
Essential
Proven experience in manufacturing electrical harnesses and cable assemblies.
Excellent understanding of manufacturing processes and documentation.
Ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical drawings.
Previous team leader or supervisory experience in a workshop environment.
Excellent organisational and communication skills.
Must have the right to work in the UK.
Desirable:
Previous experience within a CAA/EASA-approved production organisation.
Formal technical qualifications (e.g. NVQ Level 3, HNC, or equivalent in Aeronautical Engineering or similar).
Knowledge of CAA Part 21G regulations and production practices.
