We are looking for the right candidate to join our After School Care team. You should be enthusiastic individual who has a passion for working with children. In your practice you should be seeking to uphold the wellbeing indicators of Getting it right for every child, every child should be: Safe, healthy, achieving, nurtured, active, responsible, respected and included.
Candidate should be SVQ Level 3 Qualified (or equivalent), or willing to work towards their qualification.
Some of your responsibilities would be:
Collect and escort the children safely from school.
Plan and provide a choice of activities creating opportunities for the children to have fun, learn and develop.
Plan and provide refreshments for the children but also be aware of any special dietary requirements.
Provide a safe, stimulating and happy environment for the children.
To be responsive to the children's needs, actively listening to them and responding appropriately.
Ensure that at the end of each session all equipment and materials are cleared away and put back in the right place.
Ensure Health and Safety procedures are followed at all times.
Be competent in IT.
Provide support to the Managers and Senior Childcare Practitioners in the day to day running of the organisation.
Work to all the relevant legislation requirements, policies and procedures within the organisation.
Participate in training, team meetings, keep paperwork up to date e.g. Planning, children's files, work plans, CPD etc.
Undertake any other reasonable duties appropriate to the post and in line with the needs of Maryhill Mobile Children's Services.
During school term time working hours would be between 2pm and 6pm with some additional hours for training and meetings. We are open 50 weeks per year. Holiday clubs operate 8am to 6pm so you be expected to work flexible hours during these times, there is also the opportunity to work additional hours.
