Daddy Daycare Edinburgh is an established childcare provider in Edinburgh operating for over ten years. We currently run six after school clubs across Edinburgh with a new site opening this autumn.

An apprenticeship is perfect for young adults aged 16 to 21 who have recently left school and wish to start a career in childcare. You'll be working with us part time whilst working towards your fully funded SVQ3 childcare qualification. The qualification only requires you to attend 2 hrs a week and takes 12 to 18 months to complete, when you finish it, you will be a qualified practitioner with a pay increase.

We have two roles available

a 16hour a week role available, Monday to Thursday 2-6pm at our Frogston site (

EH17 8GP

). For these hours you will be paid 7.93 an hour, which works out as 549 a month before any deductions. A 15hour we week role available, Monday to Thursday 2:30-6:00pm with a 1 hour weekly staff meeting TBC, at our Morningside site (

EH10 4SG

)
On top of this you will also receive a fully funded placement on an SVQ3 childcare course. This industry recognised course not only teaches you about childcare but also ensures you are promoted when you complete the course to the position of Practitioner. The course typically takes around a year to complete, although some people have done it faster.

Position offers a consistent income and is a term time position though, you can also volunteer for extra hours to earn more.

The role involves setting up the equipment, collecting the children from the school, preparing and serving snack, playing with the children, cleaning up, planning, preparing and delivering activities and giving feedback to parents on how the day has gone.

You do not necessarily need childcare experience to apply for this role, just an enthusiasm to work with children. If we invite you for an interview you will find it is very informal and most of the time you will spend it with the children who then have input into who we offer the role to.
