About the role

We are seeking to appoint an experienced, enthusiastic After school club Assistant to assist the After School Club Supervisor in providing a safe, secure and stimulating learning environment at Cranborne Middle School.



Start date: 3rd September 2025



3.15pm - 6.15pm Monday to Friday



Total hours per week = 15



Fixed term appointment until 22nd July 2026



The successful applicant will need to be able to fully commit to the role.



The main responsibilities and duties are:


To carry out planned activities under the general guidance, direction and supervision of the After School Club Supervisor

Be a member of the team offering high quality afterschool care provision and attend meetings as appropriate.

Keep records as directed by the After School Club Supervisor.

Share responsibility for the care, presentation, display, safety, organisation and appearance of the facilities and equipment.

Promoting and safeguarding the welfare of children any young people in accordance with the school's safeguarding and child protection policy.


The successful candidate must have the required experience for this role;


Experience in supporting wrap around care or working with children (breakfast or after school clubs)

The pro rata salary shown is based on the number of hours and weeks worked and includes appropriate paid annual leave and bank holiday entitlements.



The salary quoted is the annual salary for the position at the time of advert. The salary will be paid in equal monthly instalments and will be adjusted at the start of employment and again if leaving part way through the school year to ensure the correct salary is received for the work completed in an academic year.



This role is UK based and your Right to Work will need to be established as part of the appointment process.

Keeping Children Safe in Education



Cranborne Middle School will conduct online searches of shortlisted candidates. This check will be part of a safeguarding check, and the search will purely be based on whether an individual is suitable to work with children. All aspects of social media and internet searches will be conducted. As care must be taken to avoid unconscious bias and any risk of discrimination, a person who will not be on the appointment panel will conduct the searches and will only share information if and when findings are relevant and of concern.
