Markington is a small, rural primary school and our highly skilled and dedicated staff are proud to offer children a good education in our nurturing and caring school. Our friendly staff team are professional and motivated, and work effectively with our supportive community and Governing Body. Parents are 'overwhelmingly 100% positive' and feedback is very strong. We are looking for a friendly, enthusiastic, reliable and committed person to help with our After-School Club provision, helping to plan and supervise suitable activities, prepare a small snack for the children (e.g. toast) and be able to interact effectively with parents and staff, working well as part of a team. This post could suit a wide variety of people - parents, those looking for experience in childcare, recently retired, aspiring teaching assistants/teachers, or someone with a passion for working with children.
Our school is growing, and our club currently runs from 3.15pm -5.30pm Monday to Thursday (club staff need to be in school from 3pm to prepare). Due to some recent grant funding, we have recently improved our ASC offer and are open to ideas for expansion.
This is an exciting time to be part of our wrap around care, school team.

The successful candidate will need to:
Be able to able to communicate effectively with children and adults
Be committed to our school ethos
Follow school policies and procedures to ensure the safety and well-being of all pupils
Be empathetic and caring
Be able to lead the children and direct/ instruct them in a confident (firm but fair) manner
Be flexible and approachable
Be willing to undertake appropriate training - Food & Hygiene, First Aid etc.
Markington CE Primary School is committed to the safeguarding of children, the role is subject to an Enhanced Level DBS Disclosure as a requirement for appointment to this post.
