Teachsport are seeking a Deptuty After School Club Manager to join our teams in the Deptford/Brockley area.
This is a part-time position, hours are generally Mon-Fri 2pm-6pm during term-time. There may be the opportunity to work extra hours during the school holidays at one of our activity camps.
Job summary:
You will be supporting the management of our vibrant After School Club settings based on school site. You will be an intergral part of a dynamic team and will be confidently communicating with parents and school staff in both a verbal and written fashion. You will be ensuring the club is run safely and be a friendly face on the gate!
You will be ensuring that our setting provides high quality play care within the Ofsted framework and the club's policies and procedures.

We are looking for a person who is:
Organised, enthusiastic, well-motivated individual who enjoys working with children and takes pride in their work
Reliable, good time keeping, confident dealing with parent questions and payment queries both verbally and via email
Able to support the management a small team of staff, be a calm presence be and willing to undertake any training relevant to the post, including first aid, safeguarding and food hygiene
Have a working knowledge and understanding of the EYFS Ofsted Framework and how it applies to school-based settings
Able to evaluate current provision and identify areas for improvement, including staff appraisal and training
Confident to act on the needs of the setting and get things done
Confident to liaise with school staff and Teachsport management colleagues
Experienced in a Childcare environment
Sufficient understanding and use of English to ensure the well-being of the children
Essential qualities
Appropriate Level 2 (or above) qualification (Child Care related)
Experience of working within a play-based setting, ideally in a school
Competent in using IT sytems to support play and club administration, as well as able to write coherent & confident emails to parents and school staff
Ability to work on own initiative
Appropriate safeguarding training
Current Full 12-hour Paediatric First Aid Certificate
Food Hygiene Certificate
An enhanced DBS check for working with children, ideally on the update service.
