20 hours spread across 5 days per week term time only. 2.30-6pm and 2.5 hours surplus for admin.
There may be some flexibility around additional hours, if needed. After school club staff benefit from free childcare. Please ask for more information.
Working every day during term time 2.30pm- 6pm as part of the Whartons Primary School After School Club. The club caters for children on roll at school aged between 4-11years. The after-school club is based within the school building and grounds and is run by a voluntary committee working closely with school senior leaders.
The successful candidate will:
Lead the day to day set up, management and organisation of the out of school care provision
Line manage a team of play workers, directing the work of staff and supervising their activities
Be a team player who is committed to the aims and ethos of our after-school club
Be flexible and confident in supporting children's wellbeing and learning in an extended school setting
Have a positive, consistent approach to behaviour management inside and outside of the setting
Have successful experience of supporting the learning and development of individuals or groups
Be able to lead and motivate a team to deliver high quality creative play opportunities
Have an understanding of the EYFS curriculum as appropriate
Create and maintain a calm, welcoming, 'home from home' environment
To liaise with the school where necessary with regard to the needs of the children who attend the out of school hours care provision
To liaise with parents and to encourage parental involvement and support for the out of school hours care provision
Level 3 or above qualification in childcare or other appropriate subject.
Appropriate training and support will be provided to the successful candidate.
