, is an integral part of the care and support The Whartons provide for our pupils and their families. We pride ourselves on creating a 'home from home' environment where all children thrive. Due to the popularity of our club and expanding numbers we would like to add to our ever-growing team.
We have 3 - 16.25 hours available. The hours of work will be between 2.45pm - 6pm, Mon-Fri. Flexibility is available for the right candidate. There is the occasional opportunity for overtime to cover absence. Pay rate is in line with the national minimum/ living wage. This is a term time only position.
The ideal candidate would be qualified in childcare or be willing to work towards qualifications. We are looking for someone who, above all, enjoys being with children, but who is also cheerful, friendly and able to use their initiative.
The duties will include:
leading games with children of differing ages and interests;
helping with catering;
organising resources;
carrying out basic first aid etc.
Appropriate training and support will be provided to the successful candidate.
All appointments are subject to an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check.

To provide care and supervision to the children attending the After School Club.
To provide support and assistance as required to the assistant with whom you are working.
To choose and set up a wide range of stimulating activities which encourage learning through play and co-operation, appropriate to the ages and needs of the children in the group. Record and evaluate for future reference.
Plan and organise creative activities, sports, team games etc. Record and evaluate these for future reference.
Stay in your designated areas.
Ensure all areas of play are well supervised, caring for the safety and welfare of the children at all times.
Initiate play, particularly with those who lack confidence or unable to interact with their peers.
To show tolerance, warmth and a personal interest in each child. This would include: supporting, reading, talking, listening and playing with them.
To understand the physical, intellectual, language, emotional and social needs of the children.
To treat all information relating to families as confidential.
To observe safety measures.
Administer and record First Aid as required.
To take advantage of training courses.
To be familiar with all policies and procedures, including Safeguarding, equal opportunities, behaviour and admissions.
Ensure the building is left clean and tidy.
Initiate close liaison with parents. Discuss their children's progress, answering any questions or queries they may have in a positive manner.
Put forward any new ideas for the benefit of the smooth running of the club.
To carry out relevant duties as prescribed by the Group Manager.
