Job Summary

To manage, lead and be overall responsible for the day-to-day organisation and management of the After School provision at Litherland Youth and Community Centre (LYCC). Providing high standards of care and play opportunities for children between the ages of 5 and 13 years old. In line with LYCC centre policies and procedures and adhering to OFSTED registration guidance and regulations and ensuring the sessions run in accordance to these.

Allocating and utilising all LYCC resources in an effective manner and maintaining at all times a co-operative, motivated and successful Out of School staff team. To lead the Out of School staff team and ensure that LYCC Out of School provides a safe space for children and young people. Ensuring LYCC provide a safe and caring environment which meets the social, physical intellectual, creative, and emotional needs of children attending the session. Identifying with young people and the youth staff team, formal and informal needs of young people i.e., Educational, social, cultural, and recreational needs and participating in the planning of a programme that provides solutions and interventions to meet these needs.

NB: In the absence of this individual (Out of School Manager) the Centre Manager will adopt the roles and responsibilities of this job description.

Minimum Qualification Required

Must have relevant childcare qualification - Level 3 (i.e. NVQ Play work Level 3 or equivalent childcare / play work certificate)

Maths & English qualification is essential

Experience Required

Must have at least 3 years management experience within a similar role / setting / organisation.

Experience within an OFSTED registered setting / organisation.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: 15.50 per hour

Expected hours: 25 per week
