This is an exciting opportunity to join a new team at Woodford Halse working on all Singer models in a brand-new aftersales workshop. With a wide array of job tasks and varying problem-solving conundrums covering all aspects of the vehicle no two days will be the same, creating an ever-challenging work environment to hopefully create a role that gives a great sense of satisfaction when tasks are accomplished to a high-quality standard.

Main Responsibilities

Final pre delivery inspections on production vehicles before they are shipped to clients against a written process. Then ensuring allocated vehicle is loaded safely for onward shipping. Inbound inspections on vehicles that are returning from clients for warranty, service work or upgrade appointments at the UK facility. This includes wheel alignment check, interior inspection, underbody inspection and other mechanical system inspections. Completing scheduled warranty or service work on a range of Singer models at UK facility. Completing scheduled upgrades or new sale items on a range of Singer models at UK facility. Ensure service ticket part usages, time allocations and facility usages are logged accurately to allow other members of the team to log aftersales costs for invoicing. Ensure service ticket concern, cause and correction fields are logged accurately with all required detail for the service manager to be able to feedback to quality and engineering. Ensure images and videos of any faults found on vehicles are logged accurately for the service manager to be able to feedback to quality and engineering on root causes. Completing dynamic drives on vehicles post allocated work to ensure vehicle is safe for client return. Location of drive will be determined based on severity of work completed on vehicle. Whole vehicle preparation post allocated work for client return. This will include detailing the vehicle both interior/exterior and completing dispatch function checks against written process. Any other tasks or duties as assigned on a daily basis. Adhere to Singers operating principles at all times. Responsibility and accountability are required at all times.

Personal Specification

An eye for detail and quality are key, to ensure vehicles always return to clients in a better condition than when they arrived to keep in line with the company's expectations. Always promote a safe working environment including 5S standards and cleanliness. Ability to work as a team member, but also have the focus when left to complete tasks or expeditions solo. Both attributes will be key within this department. Confidence in public speaking as interactions with clients and handlers may take place. Excellent organisational skills, proficient at managing and prioritising work schedule on the vehicles that are currently under your domain. Resourceful with a proven record of being able to solve problems. Ability to develop good technical solutions to build/quality issues when new problems arise. Be confident in putting forward ideas for improvements in a new and growing department. Flexible attitude towards working hours as per business requirements. Flexible attitude towards national and overseas travel as this may be required in the future as the role develops, potentially at short notice. Willingness to drive vehicles post work allocation, to sign-off repairs before client return.

Experience Required

Must have extensive hands-on experience of whole vehicles, in both build and strip capacities. Experience working with vehicle mechanical systems is essential. Experience working with vehicle trim and interior assemblies is desirable. Experience working with vehicle electronics systems is desirable. Experience with wheel alignment equipment, tyre fitment machines and air conditioning machines is desirable. Experience working with diagnostics equipment is desirable. Candidates with a previous service or motorsport background would thrive in this environment. Good engineering background essential to understand all product systems on the vehicles, and the ability to read and understand engineering drawings and homologation documentation. Ability to use a variety of handheld tools and measurement equipment is essential. Ability to use IT equipment where required to update service tickets, access work instructions and log image and video data for service defects is essential. Knowledge and practical understanding of H&S, C.O.S.H and environmental procedures is essential.
