Plan and deliver structured afterschool gymnastics sessions in line with the club or school's programme.
Teach a variety of fundamental gymnastics skills appropriate to age and ability.
Ensure sessions are safe, inclusive, and enjoyable for all participants.
Adapt activities for mixed-ability groups and support individual development.
Encourage positive behaviour, teamwork, and confidence-building.
Safety & Supervision
Conduct pre-session equipment and venue checks.
Ensure all sessions comply with health & safety and safeguarding procedures.
Provide appropriate spotting and supervision throughout sessions.
Maintain accurate registers and report any incidents or concerns promptly.
Communication
Build positive relationships with children, parents, and school staff.
Provide feedback on participant progress where appropriate.
Represent the club or organisation professionally at all times.
Administration & Development
Assist with setting up and packing away equipment before and after sessions.
Support the promotion of gymnastics programmes within the school or community.
Attend staff meetings or training sessions when required.
Keep coaching qualifications and safeguarding certificates up to date.
Person Specification Essential Qualifications
Qualified Gymnastic Coach
Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain).
Safeguarding and Protecting Children certificate.
First Aid qualification (or willingness to complete training).
