About the position:

Seren Kids is seeking motivated and enthusiastic individuals to join our team in our Guildford location as a bank staff member. This position is a freelance position that is with weekly hours variable. This position offers the opportunity to work with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities and other diverse backgrounds working in group settings with a focus on social, emotional, and developmental aspects of life.

About the Role:

working with children in group settings to provide support during a range of activities. Perform activities to help develop teamwork, kindness, and resilience. Provide emotional support through positive encouragement and peer support. Provide educational support through instruction in a variety of learning styles and related challenges. Participate in daily activities that promote fun and kindness through activities that include sport, art, drama, computing, coding, group indoor and outdoor games, and special events.

Duties Include:

Maintain a safe environment for children by following health and safety standards. Assist staff and children with completing the different activities whilst on site. Promote a healthy lifestyle, kindness and teamwork by providing positive peer support and positive peer interactions. Ensuring Safeguarding children is paramount Ensuring the areas are clean and tidy and well maintained Building positive relationships with our parents Having good communication with Managers and other staff Ensure you are adhering to policies and procedures

Qualifications

Experience in sports coaching, teaching, childcare or similar environments along with leadership roles Strong communication skills to interact effectively with children and staff Background in teaching, education, sports, childcare, youth work or similar environments Previous roles working with children are preferred Demonstrated ability to provide fun, nurturing and support in a safe manner to children Relevant certifications in teaching, childcare (Level 3 highly desirable) DBS certified or willing to undergo checks. First Aid and Safeguarding qualifications desirable. However, training can be given if you not not currently have these qualifications for the right candidate.
