Job Summary


We are seeking a highly skilled and adaptable Agency Nurse to provide exceptional patient care across various healthcare settings. The ideal candidate will possess extensive clinical experience, including critical care, emergency medicine, geriatrics, pediatrics, and specialized treatments such as botulinum toxin administration and esthetic laser procedures. This role offers the opportunity to work in diverse environments, including hospitals, outpatient clinics, long-term care facilities, and home health settings. The Agency Nurse will be responsible for delivering comprehensive nursing services, ensuring compliance with healthcare standards, and maintaining the highest level of patient safety and comfort.

Responsibilities



Provide direct patient care through assessments, vital sign monitoring, and physical examinations. Administer medications and injections accurately following medical orders and protocols. Perform specialized procedures such as IV infusions, catheterizations, suturing, tube feeding, and ostomy care. Manage airway techniques including ventilator management and airway maintenance. Conduct diagnostic evaluations utilizing laboratory tests, specimen collection/processing, and medical imaging. Document patient care accurately using EMR/EHR systems like Epic, Cerner, Athenahealth, or eClinicalWorks. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams in acute care settings such as Level I & II Trauma Centers, ICU, PICU, NICU, or post-acute care environments. Educate patients and families on health management plans including discharge planning and health coaching. Ensure infection control practices are followed rigorously to prevent healthcare-associated infections. Maintain compliance with HIPAA regulations and medical documentation standards. Adapt to various clinical environments requiring knowledge of ICD-9/10 coding, CPT coding, and case management protocols.

Requirements



Valid nursing license with current registration in the state of practice. Proven experience in a variety of clinical settings such as hospital medicine, emergency room, ICU/CCU, geriatrics, pediatrics (including neonatal ventilator), behavioral health, or home & community care. Demonstrated proficiency with EMR/EHR systems including Epic, Cerner, Athenahealth, or eClinicalWorks. Strong knowledge of medical terminology, physiology, anatomy, pharmacology related to medication administration and pain management. Ability to perform complex procedures including spinal taps, gastroscopy (gastric lavage), sonography (medical imaging), and sterile processing techniques. Excellent patient assessment skills with the ability to work with diverse populations including children (Toddler & Neonatal care), elderly (Geriatrics & Alzheimer's/Dementia care), and individuals with disabilities or developmental challenges. Knowledge of infection control standards and workers' compensation law applicable to healthcare practice. Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) or Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS).
