About the role



We are currently recruiting an Agile Coach to sit within the Centre of Excellence (CoE) for Strategy and Agile. We are a team of 8 Agile Coaches. Our Technical Product Owner Chapter and Product Tribe Product Owner Chapter also sit in this CoE.


You will help train our squads (teams) and tribes on the Agile approach and frameworks and oversee the development of Agile teams to ensure successful adoption of Agile at Tesco Mobile and the delivery of our OKRs. In particular we are looking for somebody who has experience in helping guide the tribes to deliver value with the most effective structure and minimal dependencies.


The position requires guiding teams through the implementation process and promoting an Agile mentality within the team. Your ultimate goal is to arm our Agile teams with the right knowledge, tools and training so that they'll be able to use Agile to its full potential.


You will be responsible for



Mentoring teams to improve their performance (e.g. crafting psychological safety, and driving maturity in our ways of working) Mentoring individuals to support continuous learning and unlocking their potential Hardworking and engaging, promoting self-organisation and team spirit inside squads/tribes bringing a healthy challenge & promoting continuous improvement Supporting the business to understand the appropriate practices and processes to apply based on the current context of work Experts in guiding teams to achieve goals and breakthroughs to enhance business performance while maintaining consistency and alignment with value steering Lead squad on-boarding to ensure the team is highly collaborative and successful with a foundational level training on our ways of working Facilitating key squad ceremonies/events to demonstrate good practice in readiness for squads to be self-managing over time Enable collaboration across-squads and Tribes and in helping identify and improve organisational-level challenges Facilitating or supporting Tribe level events (e.g., Big Room Planning, reviews and retrospectives of goals and achievements) Crafting an inclusive culture by creating connections, embracing uniqueness, role modelling key behaviours and caring for our colleagues Assist teams in identifying and addressing organizational, team-related, or technical issues (impediments) by appropriately handling customer concerns and resolving them Training the squad(s) on how to manage, track and demo their work, to supervise their ongoing progress Support teams use data to make decisions and building a performance culture (e.g. understanding Flow, maturity assessments)

You will need



Subject matter expertise in Agile domain e.g. design thinking in product development Technical expertise in the domain of application e.g. expertise in e2e software development lifecycle, DevOps and IT architecture Experience in mentoring and conflict resolution skills Ability to communicate effectively within the squad, cross squad and Tribe (e.g. facilitating courageous conversations) Continually developing your own mastery to support your own personal growth in order to better serve the business Learning new tools and sharing techniques and knowledge to develop Coaching community Understand the core levers of the business, curiosity to learn more Clear focus on improving performance and an advocate of early value delivery Prioritises time and effort to drive business results Interacts with and engages all business partners
