Job Description

We are currently recruiting for an Agriculture Inspector Grade 3 based in Greenmount.
Start date: ASAP
Rate of pay: 21.35 per hour
Duration: Until 26/01/2026 with possible extension
Location: Clare House - Belfast
Hours of work: Mon - Fri (9.00am - 5.00pm)
Main Duties:
The job role is driven by legislative requirements, such as the Official Controls Regulations, Feed and Food Hygiene, Feed Marketing and Labelling and Veterinary Medicine Regulations.
The main duties of the post include:

To support the efficient and effective delivery of official controls to ensure the verification of compliance with feed and food law.

Development and continuous review and improvement of documented procedures to ensure that official controls are carried out uniformly and are of a consistently high quality

Project management of the development and implementation of a Feed and Food mobile inspection system. Delivery of the inspection system in line with an approved business case, working with the assigned Business Analyst as required and providing training of staff.

Essential Criteria applicants must have:
At least an Honours degree (2.2 classification) or an equivalent qualification in Food or Agriculture or a closely related subject*
*A closely related subject is defined as one where at least 50% of the technical modules are similar in content to those in the Degrees referred to above.
A minimum of one year, full-time equivalent, post-qualification experience working in food, feed or agriculture industry**
** 5 GCSE's at grade C and above including Maths and English and a relevant Masters degree or higher will be deemed equivalent one year post-qualification experience
- Must complete an Access NI
- Valid Driving Licence
