Role Overview

The

AI-Assisted Developer

will play a key role in expanding our software capabilities -- using AI-powered tools such as

GitHub Copilot

and

OpenAI Codex

to accelerate development and streamline deployment.

By embedding AI into our workflows, we aim to:

Refine and scale smart-lighting and energy-management systems. Enable real-time optimisation of lighting performance based on occupancy and usage data. Integrate data from remanufacturing and energy systems to drive measurable carbon and material savings. Automate reporting, system monitoring, and workflow management across departments.
This role sits at the intersection of

AI, sustainability, and systems engineering

Key Responsibilities

Use AI-assisted coding tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, OpenAI Codex) to enhance development efficiency. Build business applications with well-defined rules, database-driven backends, and polished front-end interfaces. Develop web applications using

React

Next.js

). Ensure seamless integration between front-end and back-end components. Design and maintain relational and non-relational databases (

retrieval-augmented generation (RAG)

integrations with ERP and external systems. Contribute to the deployment of

machine-learning logic

(e.g., classification, document parsing, or decision-support tools) in production workflows. Participate in

. Work independently while maintaining excellent communication and coordination with the wider development team. Work across

Technical Skills & Expertise

Strong experience in

React.js

for front-end development. Experience with
