Position Overview



We are looking for a

skilled AI Engineer

to help design, build, and deploy intelligent, production-ready machine learning systems. This is a hands-on, cross-functional role where you'll develop and integrate advanced

AI, NLP, and generative models

that support scalable, real-time applications used within UK healthcare settings.

You'll collaborate with engineers, product leads, and data scientists to deliver safe, reliable, and explainable AI components that perform effectively in regulated environments.

You will:



Design, train, and deploy

machine learning and NLP models

for real-world applications. Build and maintain

end-to-end ML pipelines

(data collection, preprocessing, model training, validation, and deployment). Integrate

AI models

with backend APIs and user-facing systems. Work on

model evaluation, bias detection, and explainability

to ensure compliance and safety. Develop scalable, production-ready inference services using

Python and cloud frameworks

(AWS, GCP, or Azure). Collaborate with engineering teams to optimize model performance and latency. Implement

monitoring, versioning, and CI/CD

for ML systems. Document architectures, workflows, and results for review and audit purposes.

Key Requirements:



Proven hands-on experience as an

AI Engineer

,

Machine Learning Engineer

, or

Data Scientist

. Proficiency in

Python

and core ML libraries (TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit-learn, Hugging Face). Strong grasp of

NLP, generative AI, or predictive analytics

workflows. Familiarity with

MLOps tools

(MLflow, DVC, Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, GitHub Actions). Experience deploying models to

cloud environments

(AWS preferred -- Lambda, SageMaker, ECS, S3, RDS). Understanding of

data privacy, bias mitigation, and model transparency

in regulated sectors. Excellent analytical and communication skills with a focus on safe, ethical AI development.

Hours:

Approx. 10-20 hours per week initially

Contract:

12 months (part-time, temp-to-perm)

Compensation:

19,349.20 - 21,067.20 per year (depending on experience)
