About the Role



As part of Xpedite's continued innovation journey, we are seeking an AI/ML Solutions Engineer to join our Intelligence Delivery Team (IDT) in Bath. This pivotal role will focus on designing and deploying bespoke Machine Learning (ML) algorithms and establishing scalable Artificial Intelligence (AI) infrastructure within our Azure environment.

You'll be instrumental in shaping Xpedite's future AI capabilities, working closely with data analysts, software developers, and stakeholders across the business. This is a unique opportunity to develop intelligent systems that drive operational efficiency and unlock new insights.

Responsibilities



As an AI / ML Solutions Engineer, your responsibilities will include:

Designing and implementing custom ML models tailored to business needs. Building and maintaining AI infrastructure using Azure services. Collaborating with cross-functional teams to integrate ML solutions into existing platforms. Conducting rigorous testing and validation of models to ensure performance and reliability. Staying abreast of emerging AI/ML technologies and best practices. Documenting development processes and presenting findings to technical and non-technical audiences. Ensuring secure and ethical use of data in line with NCSC principles. Supporting research and development initiatives to enhance organisational intelligence. Mentoring junior team members in AI/ML concepts and practices.

Qualifications and Experience:



Essential



Strong proficiency in Python and ML frameworks (e.g. TensorFlow, PyTorch, Scikit-learn). Experience with Azure AI/ML services (e.g. Azure ML, Azure OpenAI, Azure AI Foundry, Azure Databricks). Proven ability to develop and deploy ML models in production environments. Familiarity with MLOps practices and version control systems (e.g. Azure DevOps, GitHub). Microsoft Certifications in: Azure AI Fundamentals (AI-900)

Desirable



Knowledge of cloud architecture and data pipelines. Experience with NLP, computer vision, or time-series modelling. Degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related STEM discipline. Microsoft Certifications in: Azure AI Engineer Associate (AI-102) Azure Data Fundamentals (DP-900) Azure Data Scientist Associate (DP-100)
