: Repair and Maintenance Air Valve Supervisor

Position Title: Air Valve Supervisor

Department: Maintenance/Operations

Position Overview:

The Air Valve Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the repair and maintenance of air valves within the facility. This role involves leading a team of technicians, ensuring the proper functioning of air valves, and implementing best practices for preventive maintenance, repairs, and safety protocols. The ideal candidate will possess extensive technical knowledge of pneumatic systems, strong leadership skills, and a commitment to fostering a culture of safety and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:-

Supervision and Leadership:

Lead, train, and develop a team of maintenance technicians specialised in air valve repair and maintenance.

Schedule and assign tasks based on operational priorities and technician availability. Conduct performance evaluations and provide feedback for team development.-

Maintenance and Repair:

- Oversee all repair and maintenance activities related to air valves, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.

- Diagnose and troubleshoot issues with air valves and related pneumatic systems; implement effective repair strategies.

- Coordinate emergency repairs and ensure minimal downtime in operations.

- Preventive Maintenance:

- Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs for air valves to enhance reliability and lifespan.

- Maintain a comprehensive record-keeping system for inspections, repairs, and maintenance activities.

- Conduct regular audits of maintenance procedures and adjust practices as needed for continuous improvement.

- Safety Compliance:- Enforce safety standards and protocols in all repair and maintenance activities, ensuring the safety of team members and equipment. - Conduct safety training sessions for technicians and ensure the proper utilisation of personal protective equipment (PPE). - Investigate accidents or incidents and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.

Collaboration and Communication:

- Collaborate with other departments (e.g., engineering, procurement) to ensure alignment on projects and maintenance needs. - Communicate effectively with management regarding the status of air valve systems, maintenance schedules, and necessary repairs. - Prepare and present reports on maintenance activities, resource needs, and system performance.- Inventory Management:- Manage inventory levels of parts and materials necessary for air valve maintenance and repairs. - Coordinate with procurement to ensure timely availability of replacement parts and supplies.

Qualifications:- Education:

- Technical degree or certification in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Maintenance, or a related field preferred.- Experience: - Minimum of 5 years of experience in pneumatic systems, specifically in air valve maintenance and repair. - Previous supervisory or leadership experience is strongly preferred.- Technical Skills: - Strong understanding of pneumatic systems, air valve operation, and maintenance practices. - Proficient in the use of maintenance management software and tools.

Personal Attributes: - Strong leadership and interpersonal skills. - Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities. - Strong organisational skills with attention to detail.-

Requirements:- Ability to work in various environments, including outdoor and confined spaces.

- Possess a valid driver's license and ability to travel to various locations as needed.
