Job Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for the role of Air-conditioning & Refrigeration Assistant / Trainee at BHW.

This role would suit a candidate who has an interest in the HVAC industry who is willing to learn while working within our strong team of engineers.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to further their career within the company and the industry. This role will be offered on an initial 6 month trial with the opportunity to become permanent.

Salary:

Dependent on experience.

The role will require you to assist experienced engineers within the business with the following tasks:

PPM duties -

You will assist with planned preventative maintenance for air conditioning and refrigeration across a range of commercial sites including Universities, Schools and Hotels. You will progress towards working alone.

Installations -

You will assist on installation projects which will include air conditioning and refrigeration applications. From VRV/VRF, Split systems to cellar cooling and chillers.

Servicing and breakdown -

You will assist our service engineers by attending jobs with them to diagnose, fault find and repair various types of equipment. This will help you to further your skills.

Other ad-hoc duties as required.



Coverage area:

We carry out work mostly within Oxfordshire but also work in a range of surrounding areas such as Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, Warwickshire, Hampshire, Northamptonshire, Gloucestershire. The ideal candidate will be happy to travel with our engineers to these areas for planned jobs and at short notice.

Requirements:

This role will be suitable for someone looking for a change in career and in particular someone who is hands on. A background in an engineering field would be ideal as would someone who currently works in a FM / commercial maintenance role.

These candidates will be prioritised.



The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic, hard-working, and be able to follow instructions and work under supervision. You will be a team player, punctual and willing to learn with a positive attitude. You will be required to work within office hours Mon-Fri and occasionally on a weekend if required.

MUST HAVE A CLEAN DRIVING LICENSE - You will need to attend the office each day to start your day. Plenty parking is available.

Knowledge, Skills & Experience:



Knowledge or working within the HVAC industry is desirable. Experience working within a team is essential for this role. Good communication and interpersonal skills. A flexible approach to working out of hours from time to time. Knowledge of health & safety practices is desirable. NVQ 1 or 2 or equivalent is desirable but not essential. F-Gas Cat-4 is desirable but not essential.
