As a leading Aviation Engineering company based in West Lothian, Scotland, we are currently looking for Aircraft Component Workshop Foreman for an immediate start.
This would be an excellent opportunity to be part of a dynamic and successful team that is constantly developing in-house engineering capabilities. Ideal candidates will have experience of repairing and re-manufacturing aircraft structural components, i.e flight controls, doors/hatches, leading edge assemblies and held a UKCAA form 4 position.
The Aircraft Component Workshop Foreman would have completed a recognised engineering apprenticeship (HNC, City & Guilds, UKCAA B/C licence or equivalent) with proven hands on experience, sound technical knowledge of relevant engineering disciplines and Aviation experience preferential.
You will support the Engineering Manager and Deputy on the daily operations of the component repair shop, ensure customers are re-charged and that repairs are completed per the appropriate standards (regulatory in accordance with UKCAA and EASA 145 standards).
Working as part of a team the Aircraft Component Workshop Foreman duties will include:
Production workshop based projects including assembly, test, repair and/or refurbishment of flight controls, doors/hatches and other structural units.
The oversight of the component repair shop, including ensuring all work on aircraft components is performed to the highest standards expressed within the Part 145 and OEM procedural requirements.
Focusing on creating a quality culture in a professional environment
Achieve operational targets and KPI's.
Accountable to the Engineering Manager and Deputy
Strip down, assembly and test in accordance with aircraft component maintenance manual procedures
Read and interpret technical drawings, illustrated parts lists and follow OEM procedures, maintenance practices.
Helping to compile customer quotations post inspection of structural units utilising Microsoft office & specialist software
Highly desirable skills and qualifications for the role would include the following:
Trade based qualification/or equivalent aviation qualifications
Extensive proven practical experience in MRO or related field.
Experience with ATR, Airbus, Boeing and Embraer structural components would be preferential.
Leadership experience.
Ability to develop and maintain relationships with customers and colleagues.
Ability to work independently with limited supervision whilst retaining overall company targets as a member of the team.
Excellent knowledge with Microsoft Excel and Word.
Effective communication with the leadership team.
Resilient attitude when faced with challenges.
Training will be provided where required. Shift pattern will be dayshift 7.00am-16.00pm Monday to Friday.
