We are seeking a skilled Aircraft Mechanic to join our dedicated team maintaining five very old aircraft. The successful candidate will have current piston engined/propeller aircraft experience. They will be responsible for performing maintenance, repairs, and inspections on various aircraft to ensure they are safe and operational. This role requires a strong mechanical aptitude, problem solving ability and the ability to carry out simple sheet metal repairs and work with hand tools effectively because none of the aircraft are supported by the manufacturer and there are no spare parts available.
Duties
Conduct routine inspections and maintenance of aircraft systems, including piston engines, landing gear, and basic electrics/avionics.
Diagnose faults and perform repairs on aircraft components using appropriate tools and techniques.
Maintain accurate records of all maintenance work performed in compliance with aviation regulations.
Collaborate with other mechanics and engineers to troubleshoot complex issues and implement effective solutions.
Ensure adherence to safety protocols and regulations during all maintenance activities.
Keep work areas clean and organised, ensuring that tools and equipment are properly maintained.
Experience
Proven mechanical knowledge with a strong understanding of piston engined, propeller driven aircraft systems is essential.
Experience working with hand tools and power tools in a mechanical or aviation environment is preferred.
Previous experience as an Aircraft Mechanic or in a similar role is essential.
A relevant qualification in aviation maintenance or engineering is desirable but not mandatory.
