Job Purpose



The Airport Duty Manager is responsible for leading the Airport Services Team to ensure the efficient delivery of operational services and customer standards and to ensure the Team's compliance of all emergency procedures and regulatory AOI's.

Specific duties will include:



- To lead, manage and develop the Airport Services team to ensure they are sufficiently trained and competent to meet the fluctuating needs of the business in both terminal and airside operations.

- To oversee duty staffing/resource levels for terminal, airfield, special assistance and cleaning services.

- Managing the third-party contractors and ensuring they are operating in compliance with the company SMS, ASP, SOP's AOI's and their contract/SLA's. The contractors may include handling agents, RFFS, security, motor transport, wildlife management, control authorities, taxi providers, fuel operators and other 3rd party operators.

- To oversee air cargo and road cargo operations including documenting data onto the ABS5 system and preparing billing information for the finance team.

- To assist the Head of Operations in an emergency situation, and to take the first line accountability in accordance with the Emergency Plan for the evacuation of the terminal building, the co-ordination of the emergency procedures or the instigation of the EOC.

- To be the designated competent person in respect of a safety significant event, an accident or security breach, in accordance with the Safety Management system (SMS) and be responsible for notifying all relevant parties and subsequently assist with the detailed investigation into the incident.

- To assist the Head of Operations on the day-to-day operations and work with other departments, operators and agencies problems solve and improve services standards. This will also include project work to develop and lead to delivery.

- To utilise management information systems to collate and provide data / statistical information / reports to the management team as required.

-Ensure that all relevant equipment is inspected on a shift-by-shift basis and that any defective issues are reported as soon as possible to the Engineering Team.

- To control and contain costs as per the agreed budget. Continually seek to identify opportunities for cost saving and income generation without detracting from service standards.

- To be responsible for the purchase of equipment and stock under the direction of the Head of Operations within the strict confines of the operational budget.

- Provide support to the Head of Operations, as required, to ensure all contracts and contractors are continually efficiently and effectively monitored including.

- Primary point of contact within TIA for Handling Agents and Airlines on Customer Service matters.

- To ensure regular audits of cleaning and general housekeeping standards across the airport site.

- To act on behalf of the airport and, when required, the CAA officials, as the person authorised to detain aircraft for reasons of aircraft regulations and safety requirements, security, night noise restrictions or non-payment of fees.

- To assist in the administration of policies/procedures and ensure changes to procedures are disseminated, as appropriate.

- To ensure that H&S procedures are followed both landside and airside in accordance with the SMS and to undertake dynamic risk assessments and hazard analysis where necessary and appropriate.

- To assist as/when required in other areas of the business including aircraft boarding and disembarkation procedures, PRM assistance, passenger check-in, aircraft marshalling and baggage services.

The successful candidate will have:



-Educated to at least GCSE level

-3 years Airfield & Terminal operations experience (one area essential, both desirable)

-Excellent communication skills

-Ability to work with confidential and sensitive information

-Ability to use own initiative and manage own workload

-Confident communication skills

-Friendly and approachable

-Keen attention to detail

-Organised and efficient Pro-active and flexible

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: From 34,000.00 per year
