Job Description

Overview:

As part of our continued support to our customer in the space sector we are looking for a number of AIT Trainers to join us on a permanent basis.
As an AIT Trainer at the customer, you will play a pivotal role in developing the technical capability of production teams across Assembly, Integration, and Test (AIT) operations. You will deliver high?quality training on manufacturing methods, standard processes, tools, and industrial best practices to ensure teams can perform safely, efficiently, and consistently to Customer standards.

Responsibilities:
Deliver both theoretical and practical training on AIT processes including mechanical assembly, electrical integration, system installation, and functional testing. Conduct hands?on shop?floor coaching and provide one?to?one skills assessments, to ensure a satisfactory, competent and compliant skill levels. Train operators, technicians, and new joiners according to the Customers industrial standards. Support the certification of personnel in accordance with the Customer qualification matrices. Create, maintain, and update training materials such as SOIs, work instructions, presentations, and assessment criteria. Ensure training documentation aligns with engineering definitions and quality requirements. Function as a subject?matter expert for AIT processes, advising on correct tool usage, assembly techniques, procedures, and safety practices. Conduct regular skill gap analysis and propose training-based solutions. Ensure all content complies with EHSE rules, Customers processes, and product safety requirements. Maintain training and competency records. Identify opportunities to enhance training effectiveness and process robustness. Collaborate with cross?functional teams to integrate lessons learned. Strong commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement. Organised, initiative-taking, and effective at stakeholder engagement.



Qualifications:
ONC/HNC/HND in engineering or equivalent experience. Trainer certifications beneficial but not mandatory.

Essential skills:
Appreciation of satellite integration processes and project phases Satellite Appendage installation process (Solar Array, reflectors, antennas, panels and deployable systems) Good understanding and detailed experience of complex AIT systems Writing Procedures and process control High self-motivation and ability to deal with changing priorities on a multi project basis. Good planning skills and process competence. Good communication skills, both written and verbal Ability to work in a team

Experience:Experience in aerospace assembly, integration, or testing. Experience in a coaching or training role. Ability to interpret engineering drawings and manufacturing documentation. Effective communication and coaching skills. Ability to adapt training to various learning styles Familiarity with Customer tools (e.g., SAP, TAKSY, 3DX APRISO) is beneficial. Experience working in a high quality production environment relating to mechanical assembly Experience working in a clean-room environment including FOD/ESD practices Prior AIT experience Previous experience of payload builds is a distinct advantage

What do I need before I apply:
The role will be based at our customer's facility in Stevenage and will require successful candidates to work from our customers site 5 days per week.
