Achieve Tuition is a new and ambitious tutoring centre opening in the heart of Cape Hill, Smethwick. Our mission is to deliver high-quality, personalised education that empowers every student to reach their full potential.

We are looking for passionate and knowledgeable A-Level English Tutors to join our team. If you have a strong command of English literature and language and are committed to helping students succeed, we want to hear from you.



We are seeking enthusiastic and experienced A-Level English Tutors to deliver engaging, structured lessons for individual students or small groups. You will help students improve their analytical, reading, and writing skills, develop exam techniques, and gain confidence in tackling A-Level English assessments.

This role is ideal for university students studying English or related subjects, graduates, trainee teachers, qualified teachers, or experienced tutors with strong English expertise.

Key Responsibilities

Plan and deliver high-quality A-Level English lessons (Language, Literature, or combined). Provide clear explanations of key literary and linguistic concepts. Guide students through essay writing, textual analysis, and exam-style questions. Support students in developing critical thinking, analytical, and comprehension skills. Monitor and assess student progress through quizzes, assignments, and feedback. Adapt teaching approaches to suit different abilities and learning styles. Prepare students for school assessments, mock exams, and final A-Level examinations. Maintain a motivating and supportive learning environment. Communicate progress to students and parents/guardians as needed. Stay up to date with curriculum changes and exam board requirements (AQA, Edexcel, OCR, etc.).
Requirements

Strong subject knowledge in A-Level English (Language, Literature, or both). Experience teaching or tutoring English at A-Level or equivalent. Understanding of exam board specifications and assessment styles. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills. Ability to inspire confidence and motivate students. Desirable: PGCE/QTS or tutoring/teaching qualification.
