ALISS Service Designer



Hours: 35 hours per week

Salary scale: 35,193 to 38,204 per annum - dependent on experience

Duration: Fixed term until 30 June 2026, with extension subject to funding

Based in: Glasgow

The ALLIANCE is excited to recruit a Service Designer for the ALISS programme. ALISS - A Local Information System for Scotland is a web-based system for finding and sharing information about community services, groups, activities and resources that support health and wellbeing. The Service Designer plays a key role, using human-centred design principles to implement changes to the ALISS system.

The successful candidate for this role should have:

Relevant qualification or experience in service design. Strong passion for user-centred design principles and methodologies. Knowledge and experience of prototyping tools and techniques. Eagerness to engage in user research activities, with a basic understanding of research methodologies. Understanding of service design within digital and physical environments. A creative mindset with a focus on problem-solving. Strong analytical skills and a keen eye for detail. Excellent communication skills to effectively articulate design concepts and decisions to those implementing solutions (e.g. ALISS developers) and people with low digital skills. Ability to work collaboratively in a small team, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability.
Terms and conditions

This is a full time role, 35 hours per week, and based in Glasgow. The post holder will be required to adopt a flexible approach to working hours as travel throughout Scotland and occasional additional hours may be required. However, this will be reimbursed through the organisation's Time off in Lieu scheme.
