We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Ambulance Care Assistants to join our Patient Transport Service team working from our new base in Chester. The ideal candidate will provide essential support to patients, ensuring their comfort and well-being while assisting with daily activities. This role requires a strong understanding of patient care principles and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced healthcare environment.

Responsibilities

Assist patients with personal care tasks, including bathing, dressing, and grooming Monitor and record vital signs, reporting any changes to nursing staff Administer medications as prescribed and ensure proper documentation Provide basic life support when necessary and assist in emergency situations Conduct physical examinations under the supervision of healthcare professionals Maintain a clean and safe environment for patients, adhering to aseptic techniques Assist with triage processes, prioritising patient needs effectively Support patients during mobility activities, including heavy lifting when required Collaborate with healthcare teams to develop and implement care plans

Skills

Proficient in basic life support techniques and patient care practices Knowledge of physiology, anatomy, and medical terminology Experience administering injections and conducting physical examinations Familiarity with medication administration protocols and critical care experience is advantageous Previous hospital experience is preferred, along with skills in triage procedures Valid driving licence may be required for community-based roles Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team

Essential Criteria

- Full UK Manual Driving Licence with no more than 6 penalty points

- First Aid at Work / FREC3 or Equivalent

Pay: 12.60-14.00 per hour
