Overview:
The role of a Self-Employed Ambulance Driver / Ambulance Care Assistant is essential in providing safe, professional, and compassionate transport for patients travelling to and from hospitals, clinics, schools, and other care-related facilities.
This is a non-emergency role, ideal for individuals who are calm, reliable, and take pride in delivering quality care during patient journeys. You will work in pairs, alongside another Ambulance Care Assistant, ensuring that patients receive the necessary support and comfort throughout their transport experience.
A strong sense of responsibility, manual driving skills, and a caring attitude are key to success in this role.
Duties:
Provide immediate medical care and support to patients in transit
Drive the ambulance safely and efficiently, adhering to all traffic laws
Assist paramedics and medical staff with basic life support and emergency procedures
Administer medications and injections under direction
Assess patients and prioritise care based on their needs.
Ensure the ambulance is stocked, clean, and the equipment is functional
Accurately record patient details and treatment provided
Requirements:
Must hold a
UK driving licence
Must be confident driving
manual transmission vehicles
Experience driving vans or ambulances is highly desirable
Basic medical knowledge and ability to assist with emergency care(optional, as we provide necessary training)
Strong communication skills
Clean driving record(not more than 3 points)
Ability to remain calm and efficient in high-pressure situations
Familiarity with medical equipment and ambulance operations(optional, as we provide necessary training)
Location & Travel:
Our base is located in
Enfield (EN3 7XU)
. You may be required to report here before or after shifts. If travel distance may be a challenge, please mention this in your application so we can assess suitability ahead of time.
