Job Description


Interface with retail and ecommerce to manage expectations of what DWA stores and ecommerce should expect and the impact on driving the sales plan.

Communicate current and projected stock levels and DWA.

Take a channel and BU lens to challenge both forecast and inventory teams to drive better DWA.

Key accountabilities of the role

  • Manage feedback against the expectations of what stock/DWA channels will see, to drive alignment and actions to improve the outcome.
  • On-behalf of the channels, support improved performance across the team on forecast accuracy and stock placement: maximise DWA, minimise operating cost, maximise inventory turns by working on a continuous improvement plan with forecasting team and the inventory planning team
  • Investigate queries on sales/stock flow (for wider team)
  • Complete analysis into root causes and manage actions to minimise (unproductive) backstage stocks
  • Manage actions within the critical path action plan for SC&L contribution to new store openings & renewals
Key activities will include
  • Co-ordinating communication of current and projected stock levels and DWA, for subsets of product groupings, with channel teams.
  • Involved in the feedback process with stores & e-com by providing information to align expectations. Also, to use the feedback gathered to drive actions to improve stock placement
  • Take channel and BU lens to challenge both forecast and inventory peers to drive better DWA, better inventory turns and better flow from the stock available to send.
  • Retail specific: co-ordinating the control of backstage stock with stores, retail operations and the space team.
  • Monitor performance of stores vs similar stores/grades/formats to identify opportunities to improve trade
  • E-com specific: Co-ordinate health of stock in EDC to challenge listings for lines traded via BF/EDC to maximise sales through best use of EDC
  • Be the interface of the team into the channels: Manage new store openings on behalf of the team. Manage trade events into the channels on behalf of the team (capacity planning/management is responsibility of network planning)
Key skills and experience
  • A commercial mindset and an interest in retail
  • Number orientated analyst with strong mathematical skills
  • Good communication skills to a range of stakeholders,
  • Interest in understanding data trends and exceptions
  • Experience using different tools/techniques to collate and intemperate feedback from different sources
  • A solid understanding of inventory planning best practice, sales forecasting, and supply chain processes
