Within JLR Supply Chain we are challenged to fundamentally transform the way we work to enable us to meet future sales volumes and customer delivery expectations in this unprecedented era of global supply chain disruption. We are compelled to streamline and digitise business processes and increase transparency and information-sharing across our end-to-end supply chain.

This role sits within the newly forming Supply Chain Analytics & Digital Team - an embedded cross-disciplinary group of highly technical data professionals who move fast using the latest technologies, sharing standards and best practices with our colleagues in the JLR central digital team, using this relationship to support talent development across the enterprise as part of the wider digital community.

In this delivery role, you\'ll be part of a fun, inclusive, learning, flexible, value focussed team backed by growing supply chain domain expertise and fearless in the face of a thorny technical problem or highly complex data sets. You will assist in the design and delivery of transformational Digital products that sit within the wider Supply Chain process.

You will use your mathematical skills and scientific approach to help with the formulation and implementation of the company\'s future Digital strategy for Planning, particularly in our use of Optimisation and forecasting models to guide our planning scenarios. You will use your technical knowledge to translate the business supply chain question into the correct mathematical formulation and technically implement it, assisting the business with interpreting and diagnosing the output and proactively suggesting improvements.

WHAT YOU\'LL NEED

  • Educated to degree level a mathematical or operational research subject preferred
  • Previous experience working in a team as a data scientist or optimisation specialist
  • Experience of developing production data science model deployments
  • Python or equivalent (i.e. Java) development experience including common data science libraries
  • SQL development and experience in relational or no-sql databases
  • Proven ability to lead small teams in technical assignments
