The Analytics Manager will be responsible for ensuring all customer, marketing, and wider business customer-level analytics are scoped well, delivered accurately, on time, and to brief. Reporting into the Head of Insight & Analytics, they will be responsible for managing, motivating, and supporting the customer analytics team (currently 3, will be 4 DRs), and ensuring that team outputs are clear, insightful, concise, and make sound recommendations back to the business. They will also need to work closely with marketing channel owners and business stakeholders across Retail, Property, Merchandising, Product, Digital, and Marketing to advise where data and analytics can help drive ongoing strategy, improve our propositions, and deliver more efficient marketing. The Analytics Manager is expected to be comfortable both being hands-on in DataBricks and Power BI, executing analytics and helping build reporting, as well as communicating with the wider business to scope the right approaches to answering business questions, as well as cascading findings and recommendations.
What you'll be doing

Be custodian of the Customer Data Platform (CDP) and manage data integrity of the data models, which are compiled to support Power BI reporting, as well as deep dive queries, conducted by the team.
Scoping effective measurement approaches and metric definitions, as well as helping prioritise ongoing customer data development
Doing these through good working relationships with IT and managed service partners, as well as stakeholders across the business, to whom we serve our insight and reporting to.
Management and continuous improvement of reporting via Power BI and empowering wider business teams to utilise our reports, to self-serve basic-level customer insight
Evolve ways of working for the team so that they feel close to Marketing & trade activity, in order to be proactive in bespoke analysis & reporting.
Pro-actively defining and recommending new marketing & customer analytics to both improve performance & support ad-hoc project activities.
Continuously working to streamline and improve processes, maximising the quality and speed of work undertaken.
Be responsible for managing ad hoc requests for analysis from wider business and ensuring deadlines are consistently met. Managing stakeholder expectations and the prioritisation of the team workplan
Working closely with the Senior Research Manager to enable 360 insight where possible, combining what customers think and say, with what they do
Managing & developing analysts to be champions or the customer, sharing insight and opinion widely, and advocating for a more customer-led approach across the wider business
What skills & experience you'll need

Desired/Required skills or experience:
Educated to degree level in a relevant scientific field or equivalent hands-on experience (Essential)
Solid track record of hands-on analytics experience (Essential)
Direct marketing or customer analytics experience in the retail sector (Essential)
Experience of using SQL to pull and analyse customer and transactional level data from a relational database (Essential)
Experience of using a data visualisation tool, such as Power BI, Tableau, or similar (Essential)
Proven advanced Excel (Essential)
Experience of Alteryx or similar data analytics tool (Strongly Preferred)
Experience of managing & mentoring a team (Strongly Preferred)
Customer data architecture knowledge and ideally Databricks experience (Strongly Preferred)
Campaign planning and data selection execution experience (Preferred)
Other desirable experience: Digital/Product/Category Analytics; Online/Offline Attribution; Marketing Segmentation; Propensity Modelling.

Ability to get to the crux of what stakeholders are trying to do or the hypothesis they are trying to prove/disprove, rather than taking all requests to the team at face value

Highly organised, with good time management and analytical thinking skills
Ability to communicate clearly via written & verbally with cross-functional business teams
