2gether Support Solutions is a Facilities and Estates services company providing support to healthcare professionals caring for over 2000 patients daily across multiple East Kent hospital sites. 2gether provides vital services including maintenance, cleaning, catering, procurement, logistics and much more.
The Role
As a 2gether driver you will play a crucial role in the smooth operation of our healthcare services. You will be responsible for the safe conveyance of medical supplies, equipment, and patients between hospital sites and other designated locations. Your contribution ensures that healthcare services run efficiently and that patients receive the care they need in a timely manner. This role requires a high level of responsibility, as you will be entrusted with the safe operation of vehicles, adherence to strict safety standards, and clear communication with the logistics team.
In addition to your driving duties, you will be expected to perform daily vehicle checks, maintain accurate records, and ensure that the vehicle is always in a clean and roadworthy condition. Your ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and respond to unforeseen circumstances with professionalism will be key to your success in this role.
This is a part time opportunity, working 15 hours per week, Saturday and Sunday 10am - 6pm on a permanent basis.
Main Duties:
The safe conveyance of all items and passengers carried in the vehicles, and collection from/delivery to the designated places in a timely fashion
The safe operation of vehicles, including daily start and end of shift vehicle and equipment checks, making sure the vehicles are road legal and that fluid levels are maintained (i.e. water, fuel, oil, antifreeze, other hydraulic fluids) in order to ensure the safe and effective operation of the vehicles
Ensuring the vehicles are maintained in a road worthy condition at all times, completing defect report forms and reporting any safety defects immediately
The maintenance of the necessary records and documents concerned with the operation of the vehicles (including mileage records, fuel issues and any service surveys that may be required)
The Person
You will need a full UK driving licence with a D1 qualification
. You must demonstrate a strong commitment to safety, with the ability to conduct thorough vehicle checks and prioritise safety in all aspects of your work. Excellent communication skills are essential, as you will need to operate the vehicle's communication systems effectively and interact professionally with your team and passengers. Being a team player is crucial, as you will be expected to integrate smoothly with the logistics team, contributing to a collaborative working environment.
